J is simply one of those letters that you won’t find used that often for the first letter of last names. Don’t get me wrong, there are many great people with surnames beginning with that letter but in the art world, we have only had the pleasure of posting one of them.

Johann Jongkind is an excellent representative for artists with last names beginning with the letter J. The Dutch painter was highly skilled in his craft and remembered for inspiring other, more famous artists, to change how they utilized light in their paintings.
