Paintings of Russia
Russia has always seemed to be a country of great extremes – the great architectural beauty of the Kremlin to the owner-built farm houses of the 17th and 18th Centuries that weren’t much more than small cabins. There’s the beautiful beaches along the Russian Riviera and the harsh, frozen landscape of Siberia. Through it all, their people have a seemingly endless resilience that may not be found anywhere else.
Russian artist Abram Arkhipov (1862-1930) is most well-known for his paintings of life in Russia during the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th Centuries. For now, his work is the only paintings of Russia on The Famous Artists but as the site grows, hopefully so will there be more works that capture the Russian landscape.
