Maddona and Child is a beautiful painting painted with ground gold and tempera on a panel by the famous Italian Renaissance painter Bernardo Daddi (ca. 1280-1348). The icon depicts the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus surrounded in an elaborate gilded frame.
Sotheby’s in New York auctioned this painting in June of 2010 and it garnered a winning bid of $110,500.
